I made the riddim for Papine immediately after I made the riddim for Oh Lord, thinking that I had found a way within my means to make riddims that have a rockers vibe. I showed the instrumentals to my cousin Gen and she was really into the Oh Lord riddim, but the Papine Riddim, with all of the same elements, for whatever reason didn't vibe in the same way. That's how it is sometimes, but still I really liked the melody for the hook, so I recorded the two hooks with the gap in between, so short that i didn't know what to do with it. I was showing the song to Keondra and she said she would write something for it. She had to cram what was originally eight lines into four, it fit the song well, a response to the pleading of the hook.
