about

The sample is from the song "Roda Viva" by Chico Buarque, the loop felt overbearing, I remember showing it to my friend Bob Lumsden, he said it sounded like a choir on Valium. The weight of the sample is probably why I chose to write about despair, and how heavy it can be. While the ideas in the song are at times very real to me, they are not necessarily truths for me all of the time. The main thing here is that there are people in the world doing things that I love, despite the despair and the sorrow that they surely hold within, which I find courageous.
